美埔村位于莲花镇政府驻地，属镇中心区，聚落呈长方块状，是镇政府所在的村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子旧称「尾埔」，因方言读音雅化，改写为「美埔」。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

博雅地名网载，村子共1260户，居民4163人，设14个自然村与17个村民小组，年份未注；百度百科则记人口4792人，亦未注年份，两者不一，未能核实。村民以农业为主，产稻谷、花生与蔬菜等。[1][2]

沿革[edit]

清代此地属归德里六至八都的西圆保与马溪保。民国时划入莲山乡湖美保，此后在第三区、后寨区的建制间变动；1959年2月改为莲花公社湖美大队，1984年设莲花乡美埔村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2022年12月，经福建省爱国卫生运动委员会评定，获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
