村庄傍着南山岭而建，因此得名南山村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属归德里，即九至十都的埔下保。1943年转入塘柑乡的南林保。1950年改设西山乡，1952年更名凤南乡，1959年成为凤南大队。[1]

1960年另析出南山大队，归策槽公社管辖；次年（1961年）转隶凤南农场。1984年设南山村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，南山村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
