西洪塘社区位于福建省厦门市同安区祥和街道，原为行政村，2006年改制为社区。[1]

社区名取自驻地西洪塘自然村，村名来自当地红壤土质，以及东、西两侧各有一口大池塘的地势。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此处归从顺里的洪塘尾保，民国后期改隶康乐乡的洪坂保。[1]

解放后先归第七区的洪坂乡；公社化后作为红星大队出现，1984年又以祥桥乡西洪塘村委会的名称存在，1991年随乡改镇并入新民镇。[1]

后来大同镇的版图于1994年纳入此地，2000年该镇一分为二，此地转入祥平街道，2006年成为社区。2022年祥平街道部分社区析出，西洪塘遂归祥和街道。[1][2]
