历史沿革[edit]
地名的来历：南宋绍熙元年（1190年），吕廷元在浯洲（今金门）的西仓分居。1393年（明洪武二十六年），他的十六世孙长顺迁往同安霞崎的石井，之后吕姓成为当地多数，石井村因此改名吕厝。[1]
民国时期，此地归瑶岗乡惠东保；新中国成立后隶属第七区惠东乡，继而并入惠阳乡，划归策槽区。1959年起属策槽公社惠东大队；1961年该大队分出吕厝大队。[1][2]
1984年设西柯乡吕厝村委会，2006年12月改为吕厝社区。[1][2]
文化[edit]
社区内华藏庵所供王爷的送王船民俗，被列为「省级非物质文化遗产」，国家级项目的申报工作正在进行。[1]
吕厝歌仔戏团常年应邀到台湾、东南亚演出。篮球在这里流行，本社区的篮球队得过「厦门市村村篮球赛」冠军。[1]
