西山村是同安区新民街道下辖的行政村，位于大西山西麓，地处新民与莲花两镇的交界处。[1]

全村由两大自然村构成，共15个村民小组。村民收入主要来自农业，以及龙眼的种植与销售，其中「凤梨穗」龙眼是主要特产之一。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子位于大西山西麓，故以此得名西山村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

大西山至石壁山一段自324国道北侧延伸，长约6公里。沿线分布着罗汉山、金光湖等景点，地势起伏，林木繁茂，适宜开辟森林公园。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地归德里九都、十都的长尾坑保管辖，民国初改隶塘柑乡塘山保。1950年设第七区西山乡，1959年划为策槽公社的西山大队，1961年归入新民公社。[1]

1984年此地归祥桥乡，设西山村委会；1992年时隶属新民镇。[1]
