洋厝埔村是同安区新民街道下辖的行政村，紧邻西山岩风景区，位于国道324线北侧。[1]

村中共有5个自然村，7个村民小组。2024年1月，洋厝埔村获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

地名由来[edit]

此处原为杨姓聚居之地，称杨厝埔。明代，厦门嘉禾里埭头一支吴姓迁来定居，地名遂演变为洋厝埔。另有说法称此地多榧树，又名榧厝埔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，此地的田地分属从顺里西岗保与归德里湖田保。民国时期划入塘柑乡的塘山保，1950年改隶第七区西林乡。1959年，本村与西塘并为毅力大队，归策槽公社；1961年，毅力大队重新分立。[1]

1984年改属祥桥乡，设洋厝埔村委会；1991年祥桥乡改镇，1992年改称新民镇。[1]
