朝元社区是福建省厦门市同安区大同街道下辖的社区，地处城区北部，环城北路以西、同南路以南。社区2006年由村改制而来，名称与当地的朝元观有关。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地在1943年归城厢镇朝元保管辖，次年并入庄宅保，改称朝宗保，划属美峰乡。新中国成立后先后隶属第七区朝宗乡、城郊公社朝宗大队。[1]
1961年，古庄分出一部分另设朝元大队；1964年划归新民公社，1984年成为祥桥乡的朝元村委会，次年又归大同镇。2000年12月入大同街道，2006年村改为社区。[1]
朝元观[edit]
据博雅地名网，朝元观建于南宋嘉熙年间，是同安较古老的道教宫观，现为区级文物保护单位。[1]
