坂头防护林场位于福建省厦门市西北部，地处戴云山与博平岭交界处，集美区统计年鉴把它与各街道、镇并列列出。[4] 林场以石兜、坂头两座水库为中心，设立之初是为保护这两座水库的集水区，此后以用材林和防护林为主要经营对象，兼营茶园、果园和木材加工。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1959年10月，林场为保护石兜、坂头两座水库的集水区而设，初由厦门市城建局主管，建场初期的职工人数最多时为400人。1963年改由农林局管辖，同年定编150人。[1][2]

1980年7月15日起，林场以国营厦门坂头防护林场的名称运作。[1] 1995年，厦门市政府决定将林场设为林业保护区，以保护林地、涵养水源。[1][2]

林场代管的行政村，如黄地村，于2005年10月划归集美区后溪镇。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

林场处在戴云山与博平岭之间的交接地带，周边山势较高，中部低洼，两座水库之间的谷地呈狭长的盆状。[1][2]

林业经营[edit]

据快懂百科所记1995年底的数字，林场现经营面积7.22万亩，其中林地7.07万亩，有林地5.64万亩，有林地中马尾松4.63万亩。防护林现存1.32万亩。[1][2]

人口[edit]

1995年底，场内共有1724人，行政村居民占1622人，另有干部18名，职工51名（合同制的占12名），以及33名家属子女。[2]
