前进村位于后溪镇西北部，地处324国道与孙坂公路的交汇处。全村下辖苏营、洪村、中保、东边、郭仔头和西井6个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清末这里属仁德里十三都，1912年改属仁德里十二都苏营保。1940年代先后归苏营保和城内保、下营保管辖，1950年属第二区，1955年属后溪区，1956年划入灌口区海山乡。1958年10月设郊区后溪公社后溪大队。[2]

1959年析出溪西大队。村名来自1971年新村、溪西两大队合并为前进大队一事。1979年前进大队分为前进（居中）、新村（坐北）、溪西（南向）三个大队，1984年10月设后溪乡前进村委会，1987年划属集美区。[2][3]

经济[edit]

村民收入以农业为主，此外有房屋出租、入厂就业和养殖等。西井一带的「后溪工业组团」带动了部分自然村的经济。村中还培育花卉和景观植物。[1]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，前进村三次列入淘宝村名单。2021年11月，村被命名为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

苏营一带有皇帝井，井区于1840年（清道光年间）重修，1997年再次修缮。[6][5]

村南侧有明代的张晖墓，为区级文物保护单位。[1][4] 苏营还有清代的苏营寨遗址，寨址呈椭圆形，开设西、南二门。[4]
