铁山社区位于灌口镇东南部，南面与杏林街道相依，北面靠灌口集镇，东面接中亚工业园，西面与黄庄社区、上头亭社区相邻。社区范围内原有打铁行自然村，2004年改为社区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

打铁行自然村又称铁山，古时村旁有一座形状像铁块的小山，故得此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属安仁里。民国时期划归灌口镇前场保，建国初为灌口区前场乡的一部分。1956年转属灌口区灌口乡，1958年并入郊区灌口公社，称铁山大队。[1]

2004年辟为灌南工业区，同年改制为社区。此前的村委会自1984年起设立，1987年改属集美区。[1]

荣誉与文物[edit]

福建省爱卫办在2021年11月命名铁山社区为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

铁山忠惠宫在铁山里111号，始建于1838年（清道光十八年），后于2005年修缮；前后两殿之间有一方亭相接。[2]

铁山忠惠宫内立有清光绪三十一年（1905年）的打铁珩社公约碑记，碑文为一条乡约，禁止赌博。[3]
