前场社区是集美区杏滨街道下辖的社区，属城乡结合区，在杏滨街道的8个社区之中。[2]名字来自前场社：早年村西的海港旁设有小码头，搬运工在此聚集，之后渐渐有人建房定居，形成了小集市与作坊。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，此地分属安仁里十五都的前场、市头与窑仔三保，民国后期称前场保。建国初期设前场乡，之后撤乡并入灌口镇。[1]

1958年10月，此地为灌口公社前场大队；1961年改属前场公社，1964年5月归杏林公社管辖，1978年9月划入杏林区。1984年称杏林乡前场村委会，1991年杏林乡改镇。[1]

2003年10月转隶集美区；2004年11月起归杏滨街道，2006年由村改为社区。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

据区里公布的文物普查名录，登记在前场的文物包括前场周氏家庙（清代）、前场广利庙（明代、清代、1992年）、前场码头及旧街道遗址（清代、民国）与周果斋墓（明嘉靖年间），另有瑶山自然村的旗杆山窑址（宋代）。[2]
