杏林社区隶属福建省厦门市集美区杏林街道，濒临海边，居民以靠海谋生为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

杏林社区早先是一个自然村，经新中国成立后的各项变革和改革开放，逐步发展为城市化的社区。[1]

经济[edit]

社区居民主要靠渔业为生，海洋滩涂是生计的基础；也有人外出打工，或在厦门岛内外贩卖海产品。[1]

2008年起，社区以集体经济的方式把园博园温泉酒店对外承租，租金收入由居民分红。[2]

地理环境[edit]

2008年修建厦门园博园时，社区让出了一部分土地；园博园所在的土地原属杏林社区，园博园成为社区的邻居。[2]
