纺织社区位于福建省厦门市集美区杏林街道中部，面积约1平方千米。社区名称来自辖区内的居民，大多是纺织行业的职工及其家属。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
这一带原是农田，属曾营村。1958年起，厦门市在曾营地块建起工业区，陆续开办了纺织等数十家工厂。随着人口增加、城区成形，1979年设立纺织居民委员会，归杏东街道办事处管辖。[1]
1984年杏东、杏西两个街道办事处合并为杏林街道，居委会随之归其管辖。2003年8月划归集美区后，居委会整合为社区，华铃、祥业两个居委会也并入其中。[2]
地理环境[edit]
社区东邻宁宝社区，西面与杏滨街道接壤，南以杏东路为界，北侧靠着鹰厦铁路。杏东路和杏北路是社区的主要道路，纺织路、文锦路、文华路等与之相连。[2]
文化[edit]
社区是杏林地区的商贸中心，建有牡丹园步行街，百货商店和私营商户比较集中。教育方面，社区里有厦门十中，也有杏林业余职工学校和杏林工人文化宫。[2]
