杏林街道隶属福建省厦门市集美区，地处区境南部，辖区面积24.7平方千米。街道的东侧和南侧濒海，过杏林大桥即可到厦门岛。[1][2][3]

街道的前身是杏林镇。1979年，杏林镇分出杏东、杏西两个街道办事处，1984年两者又合为一个，即今杏林街道；2003年8月起改属集美区。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，这里属同安县的第二区；1957年4月改由厦门市郊区管辖。[3]

工业建设带动了这里的变化：1958年8月为发展工业设立工作委员会，几年后该机构撤销，原杏林公社以外的地方改设杏林镇。[3]

2003年8月，全市行政区划调整，杏林街道改属集美区。[2]

杏滨街道设立于2004年，日升、三秀、杏堤3个社区原属杏林街道。同年，西亭、内林、杏林、高浦4个村由杏滨街道转入杏林街道。[4]

地理环境[edit]

街道东与集美街道隔海相望，北与后溪镇接壤，西邻杏滨街道，地处杏林湾畔。辖区内有海湾和温泉资源，园博苑等景点也在其中。[2][3]

2019年末的户籍人口为83000人，据百度百科所载。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

厦门园林博览苑在集杏海堤一带，全园3.31平方千米，其中陆地1.77平方千米，水域1.54平方千米。园内河道将人工岛屿串联起来，因此有「水上园博园」之称。园区2021年5月起免费开放，为国家4A级旅游景区。建设用地的一部分原属杏林社区。[5][6]

西安宫在高浦社区鹤浦路一侧，建筑为一进带廊院的格局，祭祀保生大帝。1857年（咸丰七年）曾经重修，1982年又有一次重建，2018年做过修缮。[8]

西亭社区有朝旭宫、宝凫庙等寺庙，社区内保留多棵百年古榕，并建有朝旭宫榕树公园。[7]
