后坑社区是福建省厦门市湖里区金山街道下辖的社区，位于区域中部偏东。辖区面积约1平方千米，东面紧邻湖边水库，西面是金尚公园。[1][2]

社区辖前社、后社、西潘3个自然村。另有金秋、金北、玉山3个居民小区。全社区有9个居民小组，1400多户居民；其中常住人口4000多人，流动人口则为3万多人。[2]

地名由来[edit]

社区位于后坑与前坑之间的低洼地后边，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国初，此处分属西宫保与福相保；抗战胜利后的1945年改属湖边保与蔡塘保。1950年初的归属各不相同：蔡塘、古地石、忠仑三社在禾山区后坑乡，上湖、下湖、洪塘在五通乡，前坑与后坑在江头乡，西潘归枋湖乡。[3]

1958年10月，并入前线公社，成为后坑大队。1960年11月，蔡塘、古地石、忠仑三社从中析出，另设蔡塘大队。1980年起归禾山公社；1984年归禾山乡，由后坑村委会管理。[3]

2003年并入后坑社区体系，2004年9月划归金山街道。[3]

2010年3月26日，后坑社区析出上湖社、洪塘社、龙湫一里、龙湫二里，设立金湖社区；析出下湖社、金益三里至六里，设立湖边社区。湖边社区一页记此事为2011年3月26日。[3][4]
