祥店社区是江头街道的东北部分，北以祥岭路为界，南以仙岳路为界，东侧是金尚路，西侧至鹰厦铁路，面积约0.87平方千米。[1]
地名由来[edit]
明代，此地约定俗成称上店或上坫，民国版《厦门志》写作上坫、祥坫；「坫」有停留、居住之意，读音与「店」相同，后雅化为祥店。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
2007年4月，祥店社区从后埔社区中析出设立。[1]
建筑[edit]
祥店的建房资金多来自海外汇款，于是建起了好些带闽南风格的红砖大厝。祥店古民居为「四水归堂」的方形结构，砖、木、石混合建筑，装饰工艺门类很多，包括砖雕、石雕、木雕、彩画与彩瓷贴塑。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
