吕厝社区是福建省厦门市湖里区江头街道下辖的社区，位于厦门本岛的几何中心，嘉禾路与仙岳路在辖区内交汇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

吕厝古称埭头。据1955年出土的宋代青釉刻亭庙骨灰罐（现藏市博物馆）推断，唐五代时已有人在此居住。[1]

明代，漳州北桥的吕姓迁入此地定居，人丁兴旺，地名遂由埭头改为吕厝。[1]

民国初，此地归吕石保；抗战胜利后的1945年改称吕厝保。1972年划入后埔大队。1985年12月，这里成为梧村街道的吕厝居委会，1987年7月转属莲前街道，1993年4月又回到湖里区的禾山镇。2002年10月，江里居委会与吕厝居委会合并，组成吕厝社区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
