社区名因辖内的海天路而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1980年，此地被辟为经济特区，此后陆续建成华昌小区、海天小区。[1]
1981年9月，此地属村里居委会。1990年，村里居委会分出华昌、南山两个居委会。2003年，华昌地域归入南山社区。2006年5月，由南山社区划出华昌一带的地域，设立海天社区。[1]
