金鼎社区位于湖里街道，背山面海，原为东渡村的甘蔗园与海滩滩涂，由东渡居委会与东港居委会相继析设、整合而成。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区原是东渡村的甘蔗园，园里有个水池，水中常见金鱼，人们称它金鱼池。水池的形状像一只鼎，社区因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1990年9月，由东渡居委会分出金鼎居委会。1995年9月，东港居委会从金鼎中分立出来。2002年5月，东港与金鼎两个居委会合并组成金鼎社区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
