海发社区位于海沧区嵩屿街道，在海沧城区中心，辖区面积约0.9平方千米。名称取自辖内海发路，寓意海沧兴旺发达。[1]

社区下辖7个住宅小区，包括天湖、天御、天成、天源等。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区土地过去属石塘村和钟山村。1989年台商投资区设立，这里被辟为海沧生活区，此后钟林路、海兴路、海富路、海达路等道路陆续建成并命名。[2]

1998年，海发社区设立，辖区包括兴港路以东、海虹路以西、马青路以南及海沧大道西南一带。2006年1月划归海沧街道，同年析出海达社区；2014年又析出海林社区，辖区调整为东界海沧湖，西界钟林路与兴港路，北界海林路，南至体育中心。同年12月，社区改属嵩屿街道。[2] 博雅地名网的概况页则记社区成立于2000年，两说并存。[1][3]

人口与社区建设[edit]

社区党委下设4个党支部，共有党员85人。社区人口约1万人，常住人口8400人，另有流动人口1600人。[1]

2021年2月，社区列入福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单；同年11月，被福建省爱国卫生运动委员会办公室命名为2021年福建省卫生社区。[1]
