新垵村位于海沧区西北部、新阳街道北部，濒临马銮湾，村域面积1.4平方千米。村辖新垵、东社、许厝、惠佐4个自然村。村里有武术之乡、侨乡之称，是厦门市较大的城中村之一。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名来历：早先居民从厦门岛的曾厝垵迁来，是曾姓新辟的聚居点，因此得名。[1][3]

明嘉靖四十五年（1566年），此地从古龙溪县三都划归海澄县，清代为新垵保。民国1940年属第四区新霞乡，1946年5月改称金霞乡，建国后为第四区新垵乡。1958年8月，海澄、龙溪两县合并为龙海县，原属海澄的海沧、新垵两乡改划厦门市；同年10月，它成为厦门市郊区海沧公社的新垵大队。1961年改隶杏林公社，1978年9月杏林区设立时归其管辖。1984年，杏林公社改设杏林乡，村仍称新垵村。2002年改隶海沧镇，2003年8月归海沧区，2006年1月海沧镇撤镇分设两街道，村属新阳街道。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2020年9月，阿里研究院公布「2020年淘宝村」名单，新垵村位列其中。南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院共同发布的「2021年淘宝村」名单，于2021年10月公布，新垵村在列。2022年10月，新垵村又被列入「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
