锦里村在海沧区南部，村地北高南低。村的南侧是后井村，北侧挨着厦成高速公路，西侧与囷瑶村的西宁坑接壤。村名取自村委会驻地锦里，辖区面积约1.5平方千米。村中以林姓为大族。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地早先归海澄县新恩里三都管辖；明清两代属漳州府海澄县集兴上半保，当时叫作「坂尾」。民国后期，此地编入海澄县第四区金钟乡锦里保。1958年8月划归厦门郊区，属海沧公社，1961年析设锦里公社，1964年又并回海沧公社。[2][3]

1984年设为海沧乡，次年改成海沧镇下的锦里村委会。2005年7月海沧镇撤销，改设海沧街道。[2]

姓氏与宗族[edit]

村中林姓占全村人口的百分之九十八以上。锦里林氏的开基祖林天福，据称是元代的沿海官员，因公殉职。其子孙于1405年迁居坂尾，即今锦里村。[2]

经济[edit]

村集体兴建的通用厂房，建筑面积约36000平方米，以出租为主要收入。村民也借此带动了出租房、餐饮等行业。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予锦里村「2021年福建省卫生村」的称号。[1]
