莲秀社区隶属福建省厦门市思明区嘉莲街道。辖区东面以莲花北路为界，西面以嘉禾路为界，北以吕岭路为界，南以海山路为界。[1]
地名由来[edit]
原先管理鹭江新城的居委会设在莲秀里，社区因此得名。[1]
人口民族[edit]
辖内有13062人为常住人口，另有9744人为流动人口（截至2014年）。社区人户分离、外来人口较多，辖区有高层楼宇33栋。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
1985年12月，这里改属梧村街道的一个居委会，1987年7月再改入莲前街道。1992年10月，该居委会分出菡香与蓉芳里两处；1993年又分出流芳里和香秀里。[2]
2000年4月，蓉芳里并入菡香。同年6月，菡香、流芳里和香秀里一并划给嘉莲街道。次年8月，流芳里与香秀里合为莲花三村社区，菡香改名莲花四村社区，嘉莲街道则另设莲秀社区。2003年5月，莲花四村与莲花三村的香秀里并入莲秀社区。[2]
文化[edit]
社区获得国家级「男性健康」宣传示范点称号，并获得市级「2008-2009年文明社区」「厦门市第十二届文明社区」等荣誉。[1]
