莲花五村社区隶属福建省厦门市思明区嘉莲街道，地处莲花新村东侧，东面临金尚路，北面靠吕岭路，辖区面积0.4平方千米。[1]

地名由来[edit]

「莲花五村」是美称，由厦门市东区开发公司起名。此前相关住宅区分别以龙华、龙盛、龙昌、龙翔、龙伏为里名。[1]

人口民族[edit]

辖区内暂住人口4834人，常住人口6892人，合计11726人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地1985年12月划归梧村街道吕厝居委会，1987年7月转隶莲前街道。1990年，这一带建成龙山工业区、龙翔花园和莲花花园。[2]

1998年，吕厝居委会分出龙华、龙昌两个居委会，2000年6月二者归入嘉莲街道；2001年8月，二者合组为莲花五村社区居委会，此后又在2003年5月接纳建群一带。[2]

文化[edit]

社区建设了全市首个社区数字平台，并设有社区警务室、调解室和法律服务室，形成社区治安「三位一体」的群防群治管理模式。[3][4]

社区成立了「就业超市」，并设有社区鹭江讲坛举办点。社区曾获评「全国文化先进社区」。[3][4]
