金鸡亭社区的名称来自辖区内的金鸡亭寺与金鸡亭小区[1]。小区始建于1995年，是市住宅总公司开发的统建房项目，当时叫金鸡亭花园小区[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1997年这里成立了五个居民委员会，经过两次整合，2001年7月正式设立金鸡亭社区居民委员会[1]。
