仙岳社区坐落于福建省厦门市思明区，属筼筜街道，因辖内仙岳社得名。仙岳社是清朝形成的一个新村落，又称新建村，1990年代起辟建了多处机构与住宅区，2001年改置为仙岳居委会，2003年改为社区。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

仙岳社形成于清朝的一个新村落，即新建村，社区名即源于此[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

清末这里属嘉禾里的仙莲保。1970年筼筜海堤建成后，仙岳社的土地增加不少，1984年才改属西郭居委会管辖[1]。

1990年后，感光厂、工程机械厂、海洋技术职业学院和体育中心相继在此辟建；与之同时，周边的育秀里、岳阳西里和仙岳山庄别墅群也陆续得名。2001年3月才有了仙岳居委会，同年8月改为社区，到2003年松岳居委会归入后，范围才定下来[1]。
