屿后社区位于福建省厦门市思明区筼筜街道，名取原屿后社与现屿后路。这里原是筼筜港内的小岛，清时已成陆并有人定居，1990年后完成城市化，2003年屿浦并入，形成现在的社区。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

社区名沿用原屿后社的名称，今日的屿后路也由此而来[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

屿后社原是筼筜港内的一座小岛，清时已成陆地并有人定居。建国初期它是江头乡四盟村的一部分，此村取乌石浦、西郭、屿后、仙岳四社合组之意[1]。1990年以来，这里已完全城市化。

社区的居委会大多是1990年代后期分出的：屿后东最早，1993年成立；西浦由其析出，1997年8月的事；1998年2月又有屿后与屿浦。进入2001年，西浦先回到屿后，屿后与屿浦随后改为社区，屿浦最终在2003年并入[1]。
