岳阳社区位于福建省厦门市思明区筼筜街道，因岳阳西里位于仙岳山南麓西段、山南属阳而得名。社区原为仙岳社的农田，1990年建成岳阳居民住宅区，2003年岳明并入，合为岳阳社区。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

岳阳西里在仙岳山南麓西段，山南为阳，由此得名[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

这里原是仙岳社的农田。居民住宅区落成于1990年，1994年的头几个月先设了岳阳居委会，年底又分出岳明居委会[1]。

岳华、岳宏两个居委会分别在1995年和1999年才设立；2001年间，岳宏的一部分划给岳阳，岳华则并入岳阳与岳明。博雅地名网记岳明的并入在2003年10月，行政区整合为思明区的时候，与其他页所记的日期有出入[1]。
