湖光社区位于福建省厦门市思明区筼筜街道，因湖光路得名，原为筼筜海湾，1970年填海后成陆，1987年由槟榔新村析置湖光、湖明两居委会，2003年湖明并入湖光社区。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

社区以辖内的湖光路命名[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

早年这里是筼筜海湾，湾中有一座凤屿。1970年修堤之后，凤屿四周连成陆地。1982年11月起属筼筜街道。1986年槟榔新村落成，次年从中分出湖光、湖明两居委会；湖明一直到2003年5月才归入湖光，形成现在的社区[1]。
