槟榔社区位于福建省厦门市思明区筼筜街道，因辖内槟榔东里、槟榔西里而得名，社区原为筼筜港的滩涂，1986年建成槟榔新村后逐步分设居委会，2003年东西两部分合并为槟榔社区。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

社区名取自辖内的槟榔东里和槟榔西里[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地原是莲坂乡一带筼筜港的滩涂，建国后先归禾山区管辖，1958年10月划入莲坂大队，1982年11月划入筼筜街道[1]。1986年，这里建成槟榔新村，并分为槟榔西里与东里。1987年12月分设出多个居委会，此后陆续并合：2000年2月红桑并入白兰与槟榔中，2001年8月白兰、风光合为槟榔西，槟榔中归并槟榔东，2003年5月东、西两部分合为一个社区[1]。
