筼筜街道位于福建省厦门市思明区的中西部，地处厦门岛上，是区内政治、金融、文化机构集中的中心城区之一，辖内有筼筜湖、白鹭洲、仙岳山和狐尾山等山湖景致。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年10月，这一带属郊区前线公社。1981年改属开元区湖里街道，次年11月开元区设立筼筜街道[2]；博雅地名网则记办事处成立于1983年4月[1]，两种说法并存。2003年4月26日起，街道由开元区划归思明区[3]。

街道各社区的沿革多与此相连：1982年11月，四里、一里、槟榔、湖光等社区所在地段先后划属筼筜街道办事处，此前大多属禾山区的乡、保或大队[4]。

地理环境[edit]

街道东起嘉禾路，西至东渡路，南接湖滨南路与松柏路，北靠仙岳山和狐尾山，面积约9.5平方千米[1]。辖内有仙岳山、狐尾山、白鹭洲与筼筜湖，「筼筜渔火」列入厦门八大景之中[1]。

筼筜湖原是通海的筼筜港，20世纪70年代堤坝在港口西部建成，港湾变为城市内湖，水域面积约1.6平方千米，之后经多年治理[5]。

人口[edit]

2019年末，街道户籍人口为173284人[2]。第七次全国人口普查登记的人口数为182063人，标准时点为2020年11月1日零时[3]。

荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网所载的街道概况列举了街道获得的荣誉，有「全国民政工作全优街道」「厦门市社区建设示范街道」「厦门市平安街道」等，并称连续三届获省级「文明单位」，该页未注明各项获得的年份[1]。
