美仁社区是福建省厦门市思明区开元街道下辖的社区，位于城区。社区原为码头社，因旧时此地有“筼筜渔火”景观，后取《论语》中“里仁为美”之义，雅称为美仁社。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这片地方分属二十三都与吴豪保。抗战胜利后它被编入厦西区的几个保，1950年4月起又先后并入开元区的几处街公所，随后改为街政委员会。[2][3]

1954年前后，新村并入禾祥，禾泰则并入溪岸街政。此后，1956年禾祥转入溪岸街道；1958年起由溪岸公社管辖，次年溪岸并入公园公社。[3]

1966年，美仁一带析分出袁厝、后社等地，分别称工农、新兴、东风等居委会。1984年禾太析出美头山与滨南两个居委会。1997年本区归公园街道管辖；2003年5月转入开元街道，由美头山、滨南的部分区域合并而成美仁社区。[3]
