鹭江街道位于福建省厦门市思明区西南部，是厦门岛老城区的一个街道，临鹭江，濒海，北面靠近筼筜湖。隔鹭江西望即为鼓浪屿。[1][3]
明代这里是“厦门城”所在地。近代以来，此地是厦门水陆交通的重要枢纽，旧城区至今保留开元路一带成片的骑楼街，南部另有竹树礼拜堂等老建筑。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
1912年此地属思明县，1945年改属厦西区，次年属中心区，1947年底划入开元区。[2]
1950年4月，原有的街公所按地段分设，此后以街为单位划分治理范围；1955年3月改设街道办事处。辖区的变动较频繁：思北于1956年并入厦禾街道，大同则在1958年转入鹭江。[2][3]
1966年前后，街道改为公社体制，1979年又恢复为街道。2000年前后，街道下的居委会经整合改为社区，厦禾街道也在当年并入此地。[2]
地理环境[edit]
街道面积2.55平方千米。辖区东侧以斗西路与开元街道分界，南侧沿大同路与中华街道相接，西面隔鹭江与鼓浪屿相望，北面以湖滨南路连接筼筜街道。[1][3]
沿鹭江分布着6个码头，海上交通便利。气候属南亚热带海洋性季风气候，夏季少有酷暑。[3]
人口民族[edit]
2019年末户籍人口为65338人。2011年末户籍总人口为5.41万人，另有流动人口2.09万人。[3]
2010年第六次全国人口普查时，汉族人口为6.44万人，占总人口的98.6%；另有畲族、回族、满族、土家族等22个少数民族，共884人，其中畲族356人，回族307人。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
厦门市总工会旧址位于大同路一带的土堆巷，编号68号。厦门总工会于1927年初在此成立，是大革命时期厦门工人运动的机关所在地。1961年，该旧址进入福建省首批省级文物名录。[4]
青屿灯塔位于鹭江街道的青屿岛，建于清光绪元年（1875年），八角形砖石结构。它是福建省第八批省级文物保护单位，至今仍在运行。[5]
昭惠宫位于洪本部街158号，始建于明代，原为海边小庙。清乾隆年间，丙洲陈氏的一支把香火分到这里，宫庙随之扩建，并改为现名，成为陈氏在厦门的宗祠。[6][3]
老剧场文化公园位于大元路24号，2014年于鹭江剧场旧址建起此园。鹭江剧场的前身是1942年建成的金城戏院，园内保留胶片形橱窗和旧放映设备等老物件。[7]
厦门一等邮局的起点是1897年的大清厦门邮政，1914年定名为厦门一等邮局，建筑在2004年11月被公布为市级文物保护单位。[8][3]
