曾厝垵社区位于厦门岛东南部，东与黄厝相接，西至胡里山炮台，三面环山，一面临海。社区因曾姓聚居而得名，旧称曾里，又叫曾家沃、曾家湾，其中「沃」指停船的海湾，「湾」指船只进出的港口。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

社区北面以御屏山西姑岭为界，南面隔环岛路与大担岛相望，东边紧接白石炮台，与黄厝接壤。社区面积约5平方千米。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清末这里属曾溪保，抗战胜利后分属厦港区曾厝保和胡里保。1950年归禾山区曾塔乡，1956年并入群星高级农业合作社，1957年3月改由郊区办事处的曾塔乡管辖。[2]

1958年10月，曾塔乡分出前哨与黄厝两个大队，前哨大队随即改为厦大农场。1966年，农场的一部分析出，回归郊区曾塔公社的前哨大队。1970年4月转归前线公社，1980年10月转归禾山公社的前哨大队，1984年起隶属禾山乡曾厝垵村委会。[2]

1987年8月这里由厦港街道的农村工作办管理，1996年起改属滨海街道办事处。1998年8月，村委会析设龙虎南居委会，即后来的上李社区；2003年8月，村委会改制为曾厝垵社区居委会。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

西侧的胡里山炮台位于曾厝垵2号，是清光绪年间始建的海防炮台，占地约13000平方米，为第四批全国重点文物保护单位。[4]
