白城社区坐落在厦门大学校园之内，隶属福建省厦门市思明区滨海街道。它的范围东起海滨东区30号，西抵南义路，南面是环岛路。社区名称来自辖内的白城，那是一处明代的防御工事，宿舍楼群也因之得名。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

社区北面到厦大水库南侧为止，全区面积约0.88平方千米，大学路595号、博海豪园也在其内。辖区内没有企业和店面，属纯居民型社区，居民中绝大多数是厦大教师及其家属。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清末这里归厦港保，1935年为澳水保辖地，抗战结束后划入大澳保。1950年归思明区大澳保并同年改属大学街政委员会；1955年起由厦港街道东澳居委会管辖，1966年又改为前卫公社前锋居委会的辖地。[2]

1973年前锋分出厦大居委会；1976年部分地段并入下澳居委会；1982年厦大设白城家属委员会，1983年改称居委会。1987年白城分设海滨新村居委会，1996年划归滨海街道办事处，1999年又析设厦大东区居委会。[2]

白城社区于2002年3月由厦大东区、海滨新村和白城的大部分居民区整合而成。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办确认白城社区为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
