滨海街道位于福建省厦门市思明区东南部的沿海地带，地处厦门岛东南，东部与南普陀寺、厦门大学相接。街道名称取自它临海的位置。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

街道的前身是厦港街道的一部分地段。1996年，原属厦港街道办事处的若干居委会划出，连同曾厝垵、黄厝两村的范围，另成一个街道办事处，即今日的滨海街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

辖区濒临大海，沿海的沙滩长约10公里。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

南普陀寺在思明南路515号，背靠五老峰。寺庙始建于唐末，初称泗洲寺，北宋治平年间改名普照寺。明初一度荒废，清康熙年间重建。因寺中供奉观音，且位于普陀山之南，此后称南普陀寺。其中大雄宝殿与天王殿、五老峰摩崖石刻、乾隆御制碑等合为一个省级文物保护单位。[2][3]

胡里山炮台在曾厝垵2号，背山面海。清光绪二十年（1894年）动工，光绪二十二年（1896年）建成，全部占地约一万三千平方米，属第四批全国重点文物保护单位。炮台的布局由南向北依次为作战坪、兵营与后山三部分，火力以东西两门主炮为主。[2][4]

文化[edit]

2021年2月，街道列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
