霞溪社区位于中华街道的中山路东北侧，北邻大同路，南邻中山路，东西两侧分别是新华路与思明北路，辖区面积约0.32平方千米。社区名称来自霞溪路，霞溪路因霞溪得名。[2][1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，本社区自另一居委会析出。1969年更名为曙光居委会，1979年恢复今名。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，本社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。2024年4月，入选「2024年厦门市儿童友好示范社区」名单；同年12月，上榜「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。2025年5月，入选「2025—2026年全国示范性老年友好型社区创建名单」。[1]
