莆头村是福建省福州市福清市江阴镇下辖的行政村。村名来自祖先的迁徙：先民由莆田迁来，村址建在东港顶部东岸的前头，为纪念祖地而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
唐代此地隶常德乡临江里，北宋改属崇德乡南临江里，元代沿袭旧制，明代归孝义乡江阴里，清代归江阴乡。[2]
民国时期此地改隶江阴区，后归第八区，1935年属北玉屿联保，其后随保调整，先后归上江乡与江阴乡。[2]
新中国成立后，1950年隶山下乡，1956年改隶渔溪区。1961年7月设莆头大队，归江阴人民公社管辖；1984年起改为村委会，1990年江阴撤乡建镇。[2]
文化[edit]
2023年12月，福州市将本村认定为2023年市级「一村一品」专业村，主导产业为海蛎。[1]
