江兜村在新厝镇中部，背靠草堂山，面向兴化湾，村中下辖八个自然村。古称江皋。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

明万历年间，祖先王严清带着五个儿子从南安迁来，居于兴化湾顶端三面临海的一处高地。当时这里分为东皋、大皋和峰皋三片，后因小港被填为田地而连成一片，取名江皋，今写作江兜。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中古迹有千佛庵、大帝殿、朱熹书院、明善寺等。据博雅地名网，朱熹书院是镇内第二大古厝，始建于清代。[2]

江兜昭灵庙为清代建筑，2016年公布为县级文物保护单位。草堂山书院遗址为明清遗迹，2019年公布为县级文物保护单位。[4]

文化[edit]

省级非物质文化遗产伡鼓舞在村中传承。2015年，江兜村入选首批福建省传统村落。[3]

经济[edit]

2013年，村民人均收入为16368元。[2]
