霞埔村在新厝镇南端，临着兴化湾。村子东侧靠海，西侧挨着324国道，北边是硋灶村。下辖霞埔、海岑两个自然村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子原名下浦。这里河道纵横、多沼泽浦地，后因霞光普照，改名霞埔。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代这里在万安乡光贤里之下，明代为南下隅的一部分。民国年间村中设霞埔保，归光贤乡管辖。1958年归渔溪公社，1961年以下埔大队的名义隶属新厝公社，1984年改为村委会。[1]
