蒜岭村地处福清与莆田的交界处，是一个侨村。村中有蒜岭古驿道，村内的武当别院为县级文物保护单位。[1][2][3][4]

地名由来[edit]

村子后面的山形状像蒜头，村名因此而来。另一种说法认为，村名来自元朝蒜岭铺北迁重建。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这里宋代在万安乡光贤里之下，明代归南下隅光贤里。清末归光贤乡，1943年，村里设立蒜岭保。新中国成立后一度为生产大队，1984年转为村委会。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有蒜岭古驿道，是福州南驿道上最南端的驿铺，也是福莆古道的一段。[2]

武当别院位于本村，年代为明代。1988年公布为县级文物保护单位。[3][4]

侨乡[edit]

侨兴中学、小学、幼儿园和华侨影剧院，都是侨胞出资建成的。[2]
