地名由来[edit]
村子背靠凤凰山，东、南、北三面临海，西面群山相连，旧称“绵城”，寓意延续不断、人丁兴旺。解放初，解放军绘制军事地图时向当地人问路，因乡音误写作“棉亭”，此后沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村中种植蔬菜、粮食，并产龙眼、枇杷、香蕉，养殖对虾。村财政在2013年的收入合计360万元。[2]
劳动力[edit]
截至2016年底，全村劳动力人口为1234人，外出务工者占相当比例。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内的天生农庄占地1078亩，是国家4A级景区。[4]
