水头村位于渔溪镇，村址在九龙山西北侧山麓；据博雅地名网，雨时九龙山之水先流至此，村名因此而得。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改为水头村委会，属渔溪镇。此前，1959年成立水头大队；1950年归第五区水头乡；1943年设井头保，直属渔溪镇。[1]

明代为西隅万安里1图，宋代属万安乡万安里；清宣统二年（1910年）已归渔溪镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予水头村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
