建新村位于渔溪镇中西部，是革命老区的重点基点村，也是库区移民村之一；原名霞头埔，文革间改名建新，取建设社会主义新村庄之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改为村委会。此前，1971年改名建新大队，1960年成立霞头埔大队，清宣统二年（1910年）已属渔溪镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，建新村被评定为「福州市乡村振兴中高级版试点村」。[1]

2022年12月，建新村被确定为「2022年度福州市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]

2023年2月，「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单公布，建新村位列其中。[1]

2025年11月，建新村被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
