步上村位于渔溪镇北部，地处建新水库下游，村名寓逐步向上之意，1960年成立大队时改名步上。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年改大队为村委会，此后归渔溪镇。1960年成立大队时，村名定为步上；此前村南是一片草埔，村庄地势比草埔高，因而旧称埔上。[1]
再往前，1943年设南楼保，属凤金乡，清宣统二年（1910年）归东张镇管辖。[1]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予步上村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
2022年10月，步上村由福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
