赤表村在东瀚镇东北部，与平潭隔海相对，三面临海。村民以养殖海蛎和紫菜为主要收入来源。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在山的南麓，山上岩石外露，草木稀少，一片光秃，因此得名赤表。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代村地属崇德乡平北里下都，明代属南下隅平北里下都，清末起归高山镇。1943年后归东瀚乡，1950年划入第四区东瀚乡。[1]

1952年改由第十四区大壤乡管辖。1958年编入高山公社的东瀚大队，次年改归大壤大队，1961年划归东瀚公社。据博雅地名网，村子在1984年仍归大壤村委会管理，直到1989年才独立设村委会，1992年乡改镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

赤表村于2021年11月被福建省爱卫办评定为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
