村中以郭姓聚居，故名东郭[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属平北里上都，境内有东阁境。1943年设东郭保，辖24甲；1950年隶属第7区瑟江乡，1961年由瑟江析出，另立东郭大队[1]。
