地名由来[edit]
村前原是海潮可达的沿岸，流沙淤积成滩，曾名沙头。唐末，翁承赞不受官职而归，其弟翁承裕退隐迁居于此，自号瑟江钓翁，村名由此定为瑟江[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
宋代属崇德乡平北里上都。1943年分东、西两保，瑟江曾为平上乡驻地；1950年设瑟江乡，1958年成立瑟江大队，属高山公社，1961年改隶三山公社[1]。
文化[edit]
村中以翁姓为主，北宋熙宁年间由新厝镇漆林迁来，村内有「三十六天井」和「叶相公读书处」等古迹[2]。村里的「板凳龙」于2008年列为「福建省民间非物质文化遗产」[2]。
2021年2月，瑟江村列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单[1]；2021年11月，瑟江村被福建省爱卫办认定为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
