鳌头村是福清市三山镇下辖的行政村，三面临海[1]。

地名由来[edit]

明嘉靖七年（1528年），魏氏先人在此拓荒定居，见居地呈半岛形状、三面环海，形似鳌山，东向突出部与大扁岛相隔的海峡又称鳌江，遂取名鳌头[1]。清嘉庆十二年（1807年）修建魏氏宗祠、编修族谱时，因背靠北面大山峰，改名鳌峰，后又改回鳌头[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1961年自安前大队分出，以“牛头”之名另立大队，属三山公社；1984年改为村委会，并恢复原名鳌头[1]。

文化[edit]

2021年11月，鳌头村被福建省爱卫办认定为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年12月，被认定为「2024年度福州市“绿盈乡村”建设中级版村庄」[1]。2020年12月，村子入选「2019年度福建省“一村一品”示范村」名单（花蛤）[1]。
