牛峰村在沙埔镇境内。村南有五座山峰，形似牛头，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代此地属崇德乡平南里六十一都，有牛峰之境，元代沿袭。明代属北二隅，清末归高山镇崇德乡平南里。民国时属六一乡牛峰保，分为十三甲，新中国成立后改属第四区江厦乡。[1]
1958年村地归高山人民公社，1984年9月设沙埔乡牛峰村委会，1992年乡改镇。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，牛峰村入选「2020年度福建省一村一品示范村」名单，产业为水产品；2021年11月，又获得「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
